I have been singing and writing songs since I was 14. I've always enjoyed music and singing and I taught myself the guitar.
We now live on our 300 acre property at Cannon Creek, 12 km outside of Stanthorpe. in the Granite Belt of southern Queensland. I love this area - the rocks, the people, the places - a natural beauty comes through - you can see it in their faces - I like that line, I'll have to put a song around it sometime.
In 2004 I first had the opportunity to put 16 of my songs on to a CD - Welcome to My Place. This CD was recorded at Restless Music studio at Storm King Dam near Stanthorpe.
My style is what I call easy listening, folk/country. I enjoy when people join in and sing along. I'm told that one quality of my music and songs that people really enjoy is the ability to hear the words, listen to the stories, and engage with the songs.
At long last I have now (2016) recorded 14 more songs with full arrangements . Recorded at the SoundSpace Studio at the Glasshouse Mountains . The songs are an interesting development in my music and writing.
I have also recorded a live/acoustic CD of some of my lesser known songs that I enjoy and I think worthy of being available for you to listen to. The CD has a narrative that leads into each song, explaining a little of where the songs came from. It's different, it's raw and a bit confronting for some maybe but for those who like my music and what I do (just me and my guitar) then it is there for the listening.
What's next? Well I need to sell some CD's. Thank you for your continued support. See you at the next gig!
Regards... Mark
