Recovering from bushfire, drought and other temporary setbacks is never instant. Things have to get flowing again and this can take time. Sometimes it requires a kickstart!

Usual Sunday business hours at the Happy Valley Hippy Shop are 9:30am to 12:30pm, but this special Sunday from 12 midday, Caz has invited everyone down for a free musical afternoon starting with the new fabulous sensation Nine Year Sister, from 12pm to 1:30pm; followed by myself (Mark Carter) from 1:30pm to 3:00pm; and then Pierre Sparks through to 4:30pm. What a great way to relax and enjoy a Sunday!
“Nine Year Sister is an independent pop/folk duo comprised of Australian singer/songwriters, Jennie Wardle and Emma Wardle. Calling themselves 'Nine Year Sister' (being sisters nine years apart in age), Jennie and Emma write and record original songs and release digital music on websites including Bandcamp, YouTube and Spotify. At the end of 2018, they released their first CD album, self-titled 'Nine Year Sister'. The sisters love to infuse their music and heartfelt lyrics with strong harmonies and acoustic guitar. Jennie and Emma have won songwriting competitions in Australia. Their music has been played and appreciated on radio stations around the world. In 2019, 'Nine Year Sister' began live performances of their original music. They have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of taking to the stage to share their original music with others at various events and festivals."
Pierre Sparks can be found playing music around the Granite Belt on a regular basis and has figured in recent times as a winner at the Johnny Cash Festival. Currently Pierre can be found with John Hibbons at Heritage Estate Wines at Cottonvale featuring in the Lazy Saturday music sessions.
Give me a chance to play some easy listening music and I'll be there. Particularly if the venue has a certain ambience that lends itself to taking it easy then you've got me. See you there!... regards Mark.
