Well, recording with Roger didn't happen again. A severe thunder storm stopped any chance of recording. I came home reasonably down and disappointed. It seemed like the universe was working against me. Well maybe it wasn't! I was working against it. Decided to give it a go with Dr Michael Whiticker, the Sound Space at Glasshouse Mountains, sound man at the Winterbreak camp each year. Sent an email to Michael and by Thursday night I was in recording. It is amazing how the universe works. By mid-day Saturday we had covered 23 songs and we were on our way home.
Michael is working on putting backing tracks to 10 of the songs and creating arrangements for the other 12. The plan is that there will be two CD's. The 10 songs with the backing tracks, my guitar and vocals, will likely be called something like "Mark Carter - Get to know me better". The other CD will be the songs that are perhaps of a more commercial potential and I'm thinking of calling it "Mark Carter - a broader view of life".
I'm also looking at getting a new order of my original CD "Welcome to my Place'. It has sold out. I'm pleased to say that it paid for itself and has been a great experience.
I have entered my song "Dawn Service Anzac Day" into a special Anzac category in the Tamworth Songwriters competition. So wish me luck. You've got to be in it to win it.
The Lions Convention went very well the other week-end. I'm pleased to say my song "Hear the Lion Roar" went very well at the closing ceremony and I even got to play it twice with an encore. I believe there is a video of it getting around but I haven't received a copy yet to post here.
This Sunday I hope to see you at the Market in the Mountains again from 8am to mid-day. Looking forward to sharing my songs with those who come along. There are a couple of new one too to try out.
Take care... regards... Mark
