Winterbreak Retreat
This is my 6th year at Winterbreak - a music retreat provided by Loose Acoustic (Stephen Seaton). For me, this is the one time of the year, that I am not a solo muso. Kind of throws you in the deep end and you return to the surface renewed .
The venue is located on Mount Tamborine in the Gold Coast Hinterland. Literally beautiful and the perfect setting for creativity. A life changing event that somehow raises the bar each year and takes music to another level through interaction with kindred spirits and music collaboration.
Tutors this year were:
Michael Fix (guitar)
Lisa Richards (vocal)
Dr Michael Whiticker (sound)
Jon Brooks (songwriting).
A standout feature of these international artists is there passionate ability to communicate and teach. Although they have been placed into specific tutor roles for the retreat, anyone of them can speak to any of the other facets of professional music - brilliant and fascinating!

I came home from the mountain with a head full of ideas, the flu and tired to the core. I started writing some stuff this morning and then decided to fight with my computer.
A couple of things coming up in the next few weeks.
Sunday 26th June (2pm to 4:30pm) music@Jamworks. This is the best thing going on whether it's just a lazy Sunday afternoon or a cold winter's day and you're looking for somewhere warm & easy.

See you at Snowflakes in Stanthorpe on Friday afternoon 1st July - I'll be busking in the street in front of O'Mara's Hotel.
Saturday 2nd July the Stanthorpe Lions have got me for the changeover. Brother in law Ray Palmer's year as president is closing . Incoming president John Smales asked me to come back again, so thank you John and the Lions. A good opportunity to Hear the Lion Roar!
Sorry if I missed you at the Market in the Mountains last weekend but Winterbreak had hold of me. I'll see you at the next market on Sunday 10 July .
Take care ! If you see me around the place playing music, please say "g'day".
